Circe Sterling Silver and Diamond Medallion Necklace

$280

The Circe medallion necklace is individually handcrafted in solid sterling silver and set with a natural white diamond.

It features the signature Common Era raised high-polish rim, designed to shine like a molten ailver wax seal.

Circe, Demi-Goddess of Witchcraft and Magic

Born to a god (Helios) and a water nymph (Perse) and therefore a minor or  demi-goddess, Circe had few powers until she learned and practiced witchcraft. The other gods believed that power should be innate, and that spells and magic should be forbidden, so Circe was banished by Zeus to live alone on an island named Aeaea.

In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus and his crew happen upon Circe's enchanted island, where she has been living in solitude, honing her craft and taming lions (as you do). Circe, who has endured her share of cruel and lustful male visitors over the years, senses the intentions of the crew and slips a potion into their food and drink. The potion transforms the men into the pigs they are, and Circe pens them in a sty where they're left to feed on acorns and scraps.

This solid sterling silver medallion is etched with a line drawing of Circe, with a 1.3mm diamond sun shining down upon her, just like on her island Aeaea.

Wear this piece when you're feeling the need to turn some boys into boars.
